Professional activities captures everything that doesn’t fall within publications, teaching, or grants. Below is a list of available activity types and a description of each type. Professional activities must be entered manually.

Conferences Papers delivered at professional meetings

Exhibitions Creative or scholarly work that has been exhibited in a public venue
Internet Publications Scholarly work that appears online
Journal Articles Scholarly work that appears in print periodical
Media Film, video, or other digital work that has been publicly presented or disseminated

Performances Performing arts activities (music, theater)
Posters Poster presented at professional meeting
Proceedings Published work from conference
Reports Scholarly, research, or technical reports
Scholarly Editions Work of another author that you have edited

Teaching

Teaching Type Description
Course Taught Scheduled class, automatically imported from Banner
Academic Advising Number of students advised during academic year
Service Learning / Experiential Teaching Instructional activity, usually associated with a course, involving service learning or experiential component
Student Committee Membership and Research Supervision Supervising honors or graduate students, participating on an honors or graduate committee, supervising research
Teaching Awards Internal or external recognition of excellence in teaching
Teaching Grant Internal or external support for developing new courses or approaches or improving existing ones

Professional

Professional Type Description
Service to Institution Uncompensated service to department, college, campus, or university system (e.g., committee work, membership on Faculty Senate, etc.)
Service to Discipline Uncompensated service to professional discipline (e.g., editing a professional journal, membership on a conference committee, etc.)
Outreach Uncompensated professional service or expertise intended to benefit an external constituency
Professional Development Continuing education, new certification, recertification, and other kinds of work intended to advance your professional career
Professional Awards Continuing education, new certification, recertification, and other kinds of work intended to advance your professional career
